Freier Bericht

Good ridge forecast, with some wave predicted near Hessisch Oldendorf by Skysight. Driving to the airfield I could already see wave, and once at the airfield it was clear it would be a wave day. A very long wave bar behind the ridge looked very tempting from the ground. Around 10:00 LT I take off and I head towards Lübecke when I see the first rotor and I manage to enter wave up to 900m at Hüllhorst. The climb was not great above, so decided to continue on ridge further. Later during the day, I tried various wave entries, at the Denkmal, or Schaumburg but clearly without success. It was too turbulent, and could not transition into wave. Around 12:30 LT I finally managed to enter in the Schaumburg wave, which was great because my vario was hitting 4 m/s, the views up there really beautiful, and I could finally relax a bit in laminar air. I managed to follow a bit this wave, clearly marked by a cloud, all the way to Hameln and back, where it stopped, and dived under the cloud blanket to join the ridge again.
